I find it disconcerting and almost unbelievable that a A T & T as a Corporation can be falling into the mental trap that often befalls monoliths in various industries. They think that they can solve every problem by throwing money at the problem. The headlong attempts by T to acquire companies and attempt mergers only serves the pie in the sky approach to problem solving, i.e. bigger is always better. They apparently have forgotten what has made this corporation great in the past and that is great management coupled with a great product line and continuing innovation.
This approach is one seen in the past in the banking sector and one where greed and bad management using the big money approach has lead to industry problems and bank failures.
If T, the BOD and Management together with the stockholders cannot insist on basic solid management of a Blue Chip Corporation we will continue to see continued erosion of Capital Value and leadership of a great American Company IMHO.
