This is a new message about an old subject, but one I have never faced until today. T is not my LD Co.but it used to be. When I received my bill today I reviewed it and discovered that two operator assisted(collect)calls were made to my phone Jan. 3rd. The first was to my answering machine and the operator left a message that I would not be charged for the call.(the joke is on me) Out of principal I call A T & T for an adjustment. I talked to a polite young man whom I could barely understand his English and was abruptly told that their written policy is that they can do nothing to adjust collect calls. He told me when I asked for a supervisor that even the supervisor did not have authority to adjust any billing. As a result I will pay for two collect calls where I listened to a five second message and pay $6.88 for the pleasure.
I now feel good that I no longer have T as a LD carrier and that I have sold my stock in T. Each of these little complaints I encounter on this board reinforces the observation that the management of this monolithic corporation has no clue as to the fundamental public relations required to serve the public. I do know as I have been a CEO. and am now retired.
