    Valuation / akikita111

    Hey akikita111,

    You asked about valuation...

Well, small caps are hard to valuate (but for ttm numbers) since the company potential can fluctuate very quickly and typically the challenge is to figure numbers in 3 to 5 years from now. Today EDAP is valuated at 58.54M as we speak... And many new institutions jumped in at 7.60$ a share just 2 weeks ago! For a company that was worth 3-4$ a share only 6 months ago...

The last 6 months have been really hard however on all the publicly listed companies due to interest rates and stuff... but all biotechs are on their way for massive growth in the upcoming 5 years. Now is probably the best time ever to barge in.

Just for your info: says prostate cancer strikes 1 in 6 American men. You probably get the same numbers fo all the other countries around the world... And HIFU is currently recommended for patients with either T1 and T2 localized prostate cancer...

Events that can get EDAP to go up in the very near future (18 months / 36 months) are: reimbursment in France for HIFU PCa treatments, Ablatherm treatments and machines sold in the US (homologation and stuff), increase around the world (Europe, Asia, etc) of HIFU awareness and Ablatherm production, etc...

It took 10 years to get 10,000 patients... but then today EDAP runs at something like 3,000 treatments a year! And it's all growing exponentially... 600 patients or so in Q4 of '07, 720 in Q1 it said, something like 800 in Q2... and they still only have a very small portion of all PCa patients around the world... so this could go very quickly... I say it will take another 18/24 months or so to have HIFU accepted in the medical industry at which point the stock will probably rocket... EDAP, CMED, MSON, and all the HIFU players around are all currently spending massive amounts on research, congresses, etc...

Buckle up, the party is just starting.
