In my opinion I would seriously look into having the treatment done in Canada or somewhere else outside the U.S. HTRN has suspended treatments because they are dropping the study and I'm not sure if US HIFU is excepting anymore patients for the study. If they are, great. Some insurance companies now will pay for treatments outside the U.S. because it will save them a lot of money. Talk to your insurance rep and see if you qualify and where you can get treated. The HIFU treatment can be done elsewhere while the follow up can be done in the U.S. just like for any other treatment. What you have to make sure of is if your insurance company will consider it a pre-exsisting condition and will not cover the follow up if they did not authorize you to get the treatment to begin with.
