HSP- If you don't like it, move on!

Ok, I have read too many of these posts bashing HSP. I am an HSP employee and do not see where everyone is coming off.

First, I have had the opportunity to meet the President of our company as well as several of his staff and upper management several times. They are not dishonest individuals. If we are talking about business related questions, one has to understand that some information can not be passed along with out planning and a general anouncement. Upper management has not done anything to make me feel as if they are with holding from us, or telling outright lies. This is true in any company, some information is not for general knowledge, if it was we would have no competitive advantage. I am sure someone would be running to another company trying to get a job by spilling their guts.

Second, the benefits may not be what they were under ABT, so what? The problem with many of the HSP employees that have been around for a while is that they do not know what the real world is like. Additionally, how are we to survive as a company if we overspend by handing out benefits we can not truely afford at this stage? Don't be a spoiled brat, get over it, maybe read that book titled "Who Moved My Cheese?"

I could go on and on, however I will make this short and sweet: Our company says "Advancing Wellness Through the Right People and the Right Products," perhaps anyone who thinks they are getting the shaft should really evaluate whether they are part of the "right people" group. I invite those that are spoiled and feel they are entitiled to everything and anything to leave. Take your complaining elsewhere and make more opportunities available to me!!

    Happy In Hospira.

    • Like you would know... us enron employees
were told the same thing - and look at us. just hope your management is overly optimistic and not crooks.

    • I agree with your recommendation to move on....

I did to your main competition! They were very EAGER to hire me with all my knowledge...
Oh course since I signed a nondisclosure agreement and can not tell them about upcomming R and D products etc. I have to keep my mouth shut. I wonder how many people who left spilled the beans on new products that have not even been released or applied to the FDA?
You might see a Exact Product you guys are working on but with your competion's name on it.

      • Steve, thanks for making room for others with the ambition to live up to HSP values and committments.

Would HSPs performance ABOVE what most thought would be its initial performance have anything to do with you LEAVING? :)

While a career and money are VERY important to everyone, there is more to being an HSP employee than that. Good luck, maybe we will see you again when we buy out your company (or put them out of the industry?)

        All in good humor,

      • Do not worry. Most companies know more than you think on whats in the pipeline. Just price for doing business. Usually just boils down to who can excute fastest.
        HSP will do very well.

    • Worker:

I recommended your post. You'll notice the only other posts to get high recommendations are my previous posting, and the one from lib -- both of us are very supportive of HSP.

It's normal to get a bunch of whiners in this type of forum. Fortunately, workers like you are clearly the majority, and HSP is a fine company with dedicated, capable, satisfied workers.

      • Thanks for the recomedations.

I just can not stand the mentality of others when they complain about the company. Many have not been out in the job market in the last several years and do not understand the direction most corporations are taking.

On the whole I think morale is good and we are strong, there is always a dip in morale associated with change. But we get over it and do better than ever.

As an employee, I work hard everyday to make an impact on HSP performance. I look forward to the changes and opportunities to come as we expand beyond our scope previously determined by ABT. Look at the focus on R&D and International!

I have previously met the president of the company and the president of the board as well as many others at the wheel of HSP, I believe they are working hard not to disapoint any of the stakeholders, and esp our customers/patients.

    • I too am an employee of HSP. I agree with your statement on older not understanding the real world. They were totally sheltered from reality, very closed minded bunch.
HSP benefits are very good. Check out the benefits of Semi companies after they lay off all the workers. Exp MOT now FSL
