Simple put, FPL's Management aren't nimble enough to put in a realtime bid for this company, period.
In order to get anything approved at FPL, there are so many hoops to jump through and signatures that need to be signed off on that they'd be lucky to come to the table within three months with a competitive bid. This utility based wannabe power-marketer have never been, nor will they ever be an industry leader because of this issue.
The Maryland legislature did FPL a favor by not allowing that merger to go through. Had it gone through, it would have been yet another bad decision by bad management whom don't know their a$$ from a hole in the ground.
