    • Beaky,

Nice cargo pants on your avatar. Are you wearing a bra or a bro under your cool t-shirt?

    • OK-- I wonder how often he pays to have his website updated

ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, NJ, January 27, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Jeffrey Rapaport of Cosmetic Skin & Surgery Center in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey and the developer of "Multi-Lift" acne scar treatment is proud to be one of the first practices in the state to introduce LaViv , a revolutionary approach to smoothing wrinkles and fading acne related scars. LaViv uses your body's own cells called autologous cells to rejuvenate your skin, creating new collagen and boosting the scar-healing process. This means no allergic reaction risk, no injection of foreign substances, and best of all, fewer treatments necessary to achieve your desired look - one that can last significantly longer than other injectable fillers.

      LaViv Combinational Acne Scar Treatment:

LaViv has many other uses than the single FDA approved indication of injection into the nasolabial folds. During development of the product several of the investigators noticed a market improvement in acne scars. The proposed mechanism is that the fibroblastic activity re-contours the existing matrix of scar tissue.

Dr. Rapaport believes that by combining LaViv and a physical modality to break the scar teathers, such as subscision, a significant improvement can be made in even the most difficult cases. Three injections and concomitant subscisions are required and usually done at a monthly interval.

      • PressRelease/ -- From the "Good" Dr. Jeffrey Rapaport:
"LaViv uses your body's own cells called autologous cells to rejuvenate your skin, creating new collagen and boosting the scar-healing process. This means no allergic reaction risk, no injection of foreign substances, and best of all, fewer treatments necessary to achieve your desired look - one that can last significantly longer than other injectable fillers.

Apparently, the Good Dr. JR has not done his due diligence regarding how Laviv is manufactured. Statements like: "no allergic reaction risk, no injection of foreign substances"; could get Dr. JR in serious legal trouble.
One of the huge problems during European marketing of laviv was the fact that a certain percentage of patients had adverse reaction to "Bovine Collagen in Solution" growth medium where the cells were grown in the lab. Many patients with "bovine allergies" were harmed when treated product grown in bovine solution. They were the guinea pigs over there, eh.

So the press release contains marketing info that's flawed from "the git-go" -- if you will.

I refer you to FCSC, FDA required published lists of WARNINGS:

**Important Safety Information About LAVIV™ (azficel-T)
Please tell your healthcare provider if you are allergic to the antibiotics amphotericin or gentamicin, bovine materials (products made from cattle), or dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO). Do not use LAVIV if you have a skin infection on your face because LAVIV treatment can make the infection worse.

For more information about LAVIV, please see the Full Prescribing Information at www.mylaviv.com. **

      • He can probably cross sell this to his existing patient base as well.
