Check out the insightful harrymetsally's posts reporting a behind-the-scenes look at Disney's largest theme park at message #'S 969 thru 977 and 981!

BEWARE of posts following this one that will attempt to degrade these posts, as the persons behind these post are simply cheerleader for DIS!

    • It never mazes me why people value a split! Two tens for a twenty...BFD. Nothing more than a bookkeeping change..... It does not drive up the stock, it is no more an indication of things going well (See Travelers, Texaco, etc., etc.) If anything, at most, it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. My best holding.....BRKA...has never split, and that's fine with me.

Eisner is worth every penny...can't you recall where Disney was before Gold, Eisner and Wells? Eisner has made me rich and as long as that continues, he deserves to be paid well.

His job is to grow earnings...no more, no less...as long as he does that, the stock will take care of itself.

    • Although I have admitted to being a lesbian trapped in a mans body, I am still technically classified as a male on my bluesheet.

      To correct your previous statement...

"....8 to 12% losses are expected in the boards I was posting those in....TECHNOLOGY stocks, which did falter greatly in the first week of March, did they not? ANd "should" be exepected was the wording...though, I never made this prediction on the DIS board...EYE ate their words when she said I did on DIS post 1156."

I never said you predicted a drop in the market (you might try reading a bit, as you so often tell others to do).

      I did say...
      1. "Sorry it took so long for me to respond. Unlike Harry, I actually WORK at Disney." in post 1162
      2. "Since almost all developments have homeowner rules, and you seem unfamiliar with them, I can only rationalize that your trailer park does not enforce them." in post 1099 and
      3. "I'm not sure where you work or what you do at Disney, but I can make an educated guess. Fry cook in the MK." in post 997.

      Just wanted to clarify.

      GLuck

    • I'm new, but this Harry character is no way working for disney. does anyone know when Eisner is going to give us shareholders a break and do some splitting. What is he waiting for. Follow Gillette Eisner and your credibility will re-charge itself. We are sick and tired and seeing you grab the big bucks and never share with your stockholders. The annual meeting was your chance.

Boy, does anyone no how to read, or you into science-fiction....

    • Harry...why can't you admist when you are wrong...are the FONZ? I was wooooooo...just say it!

You lied about not saying the market would drop. Didn't You?

You lied about not being more than one poster. Didn'tYou?

You have not idea who Norman paperman is. Do You?

You lied about problems at Clebration. Didn't you?

You lied about making an apology to pLanigan. Didn't You?

You are a lier. Aren't you?

    • HMS2...

Here is what you posted in message 676 on the IBM board on 2/27/98...

"KEEP AN EYE ON MARKETS FIRST WEEK OF MARCH....LOSSES OF 8 TO 12%
SHOULD BE EXPECTED...WHY? BECAUSE, EVEN WITH THIS LOSS, THE MARKET IS STILL AT A TREMENDOUS HIGH....NO WAY THE MARKET WILL RETAIN IT'S STRENGTH...CASH IN, TAKE A BREAK... "

You said "markets" not a specific stock. On 2/27/98 the Dow was about 8500... 8% equals a 680 drop, 12% equals a 1020 drop..

So, it is fair to say that you predicted a drop in the range of 608 to 1020 which did not happen... Who cares ??!!??

If you make a prediction and were wrong that's fine.. These boards are here for us to exchange opinions and predictions. Each person has to filter the info and make up their own mind as to what they want to do.

Everybody is wrong sometimes and that is ok, however, to deny you made the prediction just works against your credibility in future posts.

    • For starters, to show you how lame-brained PLannigan is, she told you to look at DIS message 1156, that I said here, that DIS will fall 1000 points. I asked you a question there....jeees!

Yes, I posted meesages at IBM 676 and MSFT 4197...though, if you read (oh, Im sorry, no pictures), where did I mention that the market would drop 1000 points? I told those 2 technology stocks (and you will note they were posted before the big Intel selloff) to expect 8-12% losses (which, BOZO, is still not 1000 points....sorry...complex math too tough for you)....not sure about the exact percentage of losses, but boy, did those stocks get hit hard.....

Folks, follow my posts, the day I posted, etc., and you will see, I have been right!

      a) DIS took a big nose-dive (and rose when I told people to buy, prior to the Stock-holders meeting, though that was obvious)
      b) DRI (darden Rest. up over $.50 (from !3.5), not a bad climb in such a short period
      c) RAIN is up .575 since I told you to buy at $15....

Check the posts/facts, speculators...check the facts....

A dissenting opinion does not automatically make one a cheer-
leader for Disney. We're all entitled to speak our minds and
vigorous debate is part of what built this country and its
economy. The debate on this board is not always intelligent,
however, and that's what we ought to improve here. If that's
your frustration with the recent debate, then I empathize with
      you completely.

I do stand by my original opinions with regards to Harry's
review of the park, though I have come to understand his ideas
as more balanced than I had originally given him credit for
(his posts are not all written with "bitterness" nor "emphatic
      negativity.")

Finally, let's continue to discuss Disney investing... it's
irrelevant how prolific we are in posting if our ideas haven't
      got a lick of sense.
