Legend Home: Biggest Mistake in My Life
Saturday, 05 December 2009
This was the biggest mistake and the worse investment I have ever made in my life!
Now I am stuck with a new home that is a piece of junk and I am condemned to a life of debt and a home I will never be able to sell. After 1 year, the entire house started cracking in half. There were large cracks in the brick, the sheetrock, the drywall, the windows, and the hardy plank. The house sustained major structural damage and serious foundation problems.
Ok. I will agree to never ever buy a home that is associated with BZH. Will u now agree that posting here make no sense since we here for the most part will never own one of these homes? G. L.

Yes. And, another simple question to go along with your simple answer request, wide..., who has deeper pockets, and more protective measures in place to shield themselves from liability, the corporate/public new house builder (and their myriad layers of corporate entity, shields, (pierce the corporate veil---perhaps in your dreams, wide....) or, the new house buyer?
Learn from my mistake (One would not think that the purchase of a new house for one's family could possibly be a mistake.) the mistakes of other new house buyers, and the behavior of some corporate/public new house builders.
IN MY OPINION, WHICH IS BASED ON MY EXPERIENCE, THERE IS NOT A LEGAL PRODUCT AVAILABLE IN THE MARKETPLACE TODAY WHICH CARRIES THE DEGREE OF POTENTIAL FINANCIAL AND EMOTIONAL RISK FOR THE PURCHASER AS DOES THAT OF A NEW HOUSE. And this does not consider issues in the mortgage industry.
Should one be compelled to spend/throw good money after bad because a new house builder does not honor their new house warranty? Very convenient for the new house builder at the expensive inconvenience of the new house buyer. The system has been corrupted which grants the new house builder virtual immunity from accountability and responsibility for the product produced.
Your understanding follows the theory but not the practice.
Send me an email at: firstname.lastname@example.org, if you wish to discuss this further. Otherwise, read my posts.
If in fact you have a valid complaint and in fact have a written warranty in hand in whcih whomever won't honor then how can you over and over complain when you have failed to take legal action? Makes no sense. X wife fails to pay per the stipulation. Do i find a web site to complain on or do i go to court to correct it? I go to court. GL

A simple question to a complex issue. There is no denied claim. There is a new house warranty which has essentially been ignored by Beazer Homes. Arbitration, mediation, law suit? Why?Because the new house builder fails to honor their new house warranty? Your understanding appears to be wonderful in theory. In practice, clearly weighted against the new house buyer. Chase the uncooperative new house builder through a system created by the new house builder? And then to expect favorable results for the new house buyer? Nonsense. Read the history.
Again, new house shoppers will be well served by reading the references that have been provided.

Peace of mind?: The new house warranty can be honored or dishonored, in any way the new house builder sees fit. The only fool proof leverage the consumer has for protecting their interests is to not do business with companies with a history of consumer abuse and slipshod honoring of their new house warranty. Ensure that your new house is not built by a new house builder with a history of questionable new house warranty practices.

Google: Beazer Homes [or, any new house builder, for that matter.] defects lawsuits customer complaints.
Many people are stuck with homes now. It may make sense to make all big purchases and then stop making your mortgage payment(depending on equity). It will take the bank 1.5-3 years to foreclose. By that time you will have a nice bit of savings. Then you can rent for a few years while your credit recovers and buy again. There will be little to no appreciation during that time so you will lose nothing.
A second option is to file a big lawsuit over the shoddy construction. You may have more options at your disposal than you think.
