Stupid/ignorant doesn't really matter......... I think that everybody posting here should read the definition of fraud! As for me, I'll wait and see what the regulating authorities decide to do! this will no doubt change a few things and may even set precedence!
At first, I thought these posters asking the stupid questions were just putting us on. Then I recalled that a lot of people actually love Sarah Palin and want her to be President and realized that these posters might really be as stupid as they seemed.
Serious answer. I think that online trading has put the stock market within the reach of many people who would have had to go through a broker in the past. A responsible broker may have informed a novice investor what they were buying. Online trading allows novices to make very fast impulse buys.
"Hey, news is that GM is out of bankrupcy, with the full support of the U.S. Governnent, and it's only a buck a share. I can't lose!"
...and they buy a few thousand shares of GMGMQ.PK, which is called General Motors on their e-trade account.
I'm afraid most of these posters are not "putting us on". I don't think they are stupid, I think they are ingnorant. There is a difference.
