More energy is consumed in producing Hydrogen than the energy delivered by the fuel cells. Batteries have been proven to be much more energy efficient, and little energy is needed to manufacture them. Further, a staggering amount of investment money and effort would be needed to provide a nationwide wide refueling and distribution system for hydrogen fuel cells. Those investing money in fuel cell technology without doing their homework are destined to take major losses. Consider VLNC as an investment. It's cutting edge battery technology is far superior to all others IMO and it's a great stock to swing trade. Do your homework before investing. SS
In my post earlier this AM I suggested VLNC as an investment and swing trading stock. Plug-in electric vehicles will soon be on the market while fuel cell powered vehicles may never be viable. VLNC rose over 19% in today's trading. Additionally, although PGM stocks may be very attractive investments, my silver mining stocks substantially outperformed them today. My SLW was up 9.08%, HL up 8.80%, and PAAS up 7.74%. Obviously the PGM stocks are not the only game in town. SS
All major auto makers have spend tons of money and decades of research in hydrogen fuel cell vehicles research. Do you think they have not done their homework before doing this and is just gambling? I don't think so. If auto makers have done their research and decided that hydrogen fuel cell is the direction to go, then I am comfortable accepting the same conclusion.
Battery powered cars have the fatal weakness that the energy density is too low, resulting in very buly battery packs and very limited ranged of driving.
