    The bump today was due to a pump by this guy

    “That’s why I want to rush you the intelligence briefing Money Morning’s Natural Resources Director, Peter Krauth, has prepared.

    “It’s called Russia’s State Secret Exposed: The 1,000% Windfall They Don’t Want You to Know About.

    “Peter Krauth is recognized as one of the world’s foremost experts on natural resources and commodities.

    “You will soon see this situation through his eyes. Everything you need to know is in this comprehensive briefing including:

    “The Gokhran Cover-Up – Peter Krauth has been tracking down and investigating the intelligence leaks that are slipping out from the highest ranks of the Russian government, as well as from deep inside their palladium mines. He’s going to blow the doors off this cover-up so you can see how far it reaches.

    • I'm not sure I buy it. I don't think yesterdays move could have had much to with that 'pump piece' because there was nothing new. No new info other than a promise?

      " He’s going to blow the doors off this cover-up"

      Also it seems to me that yesterdays trading pattern in trms of volume during the day was dominated by large trades on the buy side going by the intraday volatilty in terms of volume.

      http://finance.yahoo.com/echarts?s=PAL+Interactive#symbol=pal;range=5d;compare=;indicator=volume;charttype=area;crosshair=on;ohlcvalues=0;logscale=off;source=undefined;

      And it seems to me that people with large amounts of capital to deploy wouldn't pay much attention to such publications that put out a rehash of old news.

      Any evidence that Krauth has had a large effect on issues before?

      Has he delivered on previous promises? i.e " He’s going to blow the doors off this cover-up"

      BTW, there are few retail investors left in the market ( and even fewer in the commodity space) buying individual stocks and those that remain tend to be a skeptical lot that do their homework so the idea that this piece had an effect on PAL looks like a real long shot to me.

      maybe Krauth did this piece as cover for a large institutional buyer??

    • A much more level headed and rational analysis at stockgumshoe of the Krauth article.

      • Maybe he came across level headed to you, but he lacked the accuracy to give his opinions credibility to me.

        " According to their cash flow statements, they’ve put $600 million into capital investment in just the last four quarters — I didn’t look into exactly what those expenses are, but with a fairly high cost of mining they’re going to have to produce a lot of palladium for a lot of years to repay that investment … or palladium is going to have to get a lot more expensive."

    • Well that guy might have changed market sentiment to bullish with that story, 10m shares traded in 1 day suggests to me that PAL should be going higher short term. However, PD price which should reflect the validity of this "information" is not doing much so I am doubting whether PAL will go higher.
