The fact remains that there are no convicing data showing that HIFU is superior to standard, time-tested cancer treatments such as surgery or radiation. Would a prostate cancer patient choose HIFU treatment in China over surgery or radiation in USA? I doubt that anybody in his right frame of mind would do that.
The point I am trying to make is that any cancer treatment must be able to cure, prolong survival, or improve quality of life for patients. I am not aware of any high-quality data on all those yardsticks. Right now, things are up in the air. I think that's the main reason why CMED has been up and down.
I think CMED can crumble and fall like a house of cards. The technology (HIFU) underpinning CMED has not been well tested in a randomized clinical trial. It has never been shown to be better than other cancer treatments. There is no data I am aware of which proved that HIFU can cure various cancers . They need to come up with rigorous clinical trials to test this new technology in varius cancers. CMED's high market cap can be sustained only if they come up with credible data.
Yes, it looks like profit taking. Looking at the 3-mo chart, it appears a Bearish engulfing line is forming which occurs after a significant uptrend. Last Friday's low was approx $30.83. Yesterday's close $37.09. That is certainly a nice profit for anyone who bought below $31 last Friday. Stoch is overbought. I expect a retest of $32 prior to earnings.
