I SENT THE FOLLOWING TO MPSC & DTE TODAY:
Dear MPSC & DTE,
I am writing to question and complain about my most recent Payment Coupon, showing my account balance as of February 2, 2012, from DTE.
This statement shows my electric usage went down 9% from a year ago and my gas usage went down 15% from a year ago. I note that as a commodity Natural Gas pricing has dropped over 25% during 2011. Given those two large reductions why has my January monthly charge from DTE only gone from $206.45 in 2011 to $205.75???
Electric rates have surged since last year and prior years.

These surging electric rates are why more customers are seeking an expanded customer choice program. Currently, only 10% of the customers are allowed to participate in these programs.
These relatively high electric rates are being imposed on a population with relatively low per capita incomes. Consequently, consumers' discretionary income is being squeezed.
Relatively high electric rates also act as an impediment to economic growth. Why come to Michigan when rates in Indiana and other nearby states are lower than Michigan's rates?
Gov Snyder needs to address this issue via MPSC appointments and ratemaking.

You R paying for the deadbeats that do not pay their bills and for theft. Libtards in Lansing won't cut off deadbeats and thieves and make good customers pay more for this libtard entitlement.
Do you really expect an answer from either adressee on this investor forum???
I was not expecting an answer from the forum. But, thought some investors may want to hear of this. DTE did give a quick reply. There were 3 more days during this years billing period, so that accounted for some of the problem. They had a large increase in electric rates $20 more per month. They are also charging $.53 per ccf for gas while the open market is below $.30. SO they're making over a 50% markup on their gas if they get it any where close to the market. I don't know how the Public Service Commission can approve that. It is good for shareholders, but not customers.
I do understand this is an investor forum & apologize if my posting re this has offended any.
