It's ridiculous to say that Najarian's comments are "pump and dump" -- did he buy the 577 September 70 call contracts, 7328 75s, 11,072 80s, or 3807 85s? (For comparison, there were only 168 put contracts sold in that entire range.) Take a look at those numbers again:

... all (except 70s) massively greater than open interest.
Without question, the street believes a takeover bid of as much as $85 a share is imminent. Like all rumors, it may not be true, but it is definitely out there, and hit the tipping point today. Najarian was just reporting what was obvious: an unbelievable spike in September call buying.
