    electric motors

on of my happy hour buddies is a regional sales manager for a large electric motor maker. he will not hit the numbers by next friday, being told to pull out all the stops, discounts, terms, whatever it takes to get the number and says he won't make it.

    • There are very few large electric motor makers in the US. GE moved overseas, Allis Chalmers & Elliott who made a great large motor went out of business. Siemens has a large plant in Norwood, Ohio and I think TECO owns the Round Rock, TX facility. A true large electric motor ( 500 HP) normally has a lead time of at least several months. Most of the large motors in the US are sold to refineries, steel companies, power plants. They may also be used at NG pipeline compressor stations. I believe the few facilities left in the US are all doing pretty well.

      Sentiment: Strong Sell

    • SEC is investigating for insider trading due to the large drop and suspicious shorting activity. Hope you did not short the stock with that info given to you by an insider that is your "friend."

    • sorry, couldn't stay away. rbc down 20%:

    • Electric motors are cool.
