    • We didn't have enough time this time. Does John Marrone mean anything to you Lord?

I was one of John's early customers before the BRIS lawsuit. He is a great guy and a very good horseplayer. MultiCaps (now distributed through BRIS) is a wonderful database program which I would recommend to anyone.

      • Wow!! O for 9 on my picks! Good thing that Lady Darley didn't let me go to the track today. But I'm the contest winner because I was the only entrant. Let's do this next Saturday.

Not to make excuses, but this day's results at an otherwise formful Santa Anita were a puzzler. How often do you see a consolation pick 6 on a non-carryover day pay more than $7,000?

        Look at these prices: $49.40, $12.00, $52.60,
        $40.60, $33.60, $32.60, $9.60, $4.20, and $8.20.

If anyone has a theory on how so many smart horseplayers missed the mark, let me know.

As for Chairman Frank's horse, Euchre, (Milwaukee Brew scratched from the entry), he was narrowly bested by the Baffert favorite, Wooden Phone. The chart indicates this was a great race.

I wish I had been there. Even a bad day at the races beats a good day elsewhere. Good luck to all this upcoming week. The market is strong and we are due for a little action on our stock.
