All telecoms seem to be over-priced. WIN, ALSK, Q, to name a few. I think the VZ deal presents a great opportunity for FTR and it doesn't seem to be as over-priced as the others I mentioned. The ball is in the hands of FTR management on this one. Some stocks plod along, but this really has an chance to break free from the group with the nice boost from VZ. Run FTR run!!!
Well, Cramer may be scaring some people out - (That putz shouldn't be on the air) - But FTR has pretty good ratings:
Cramer is a dud!
One reason the kramer effect might have been bigger today than it normally would have is because of all the fence sitters who received shares in the VZ deal were shaken off. I'm one of those fence sitters, but I have decided to hold on until the fence stops rattling while collecting the hefty dividend which in my opinion is currently safe. Once kramericans forget what he said yesterday and hears him scream "BUY BUY BUY" a month from now FTR will not only gain what was lost today but attract other dividend seeking investors. Sometimes talking heads aren't satisfied with reporting news but are empowered by knowing that they can create it. I guess the FTR ceo didn't donate enough to his "charitable trust", didn't agree to come on his show, or didn't BOO YA on command. Whatever the reason, his calls are front page while his missed ones are back page.
Cramer hasn't been able to talk FTR down for two months so now he says because mgt wants FTR to be investment grade he senses a potential divy cut -- something he says he picked up during the Q2 report which was weeks ago but he is now mentioning it. What bs.
The CEO & CFO spoke about possible share buybacks or possibly raising the divy at the Goldman presentation. Cramer also says he prefers telcoms whose book earnings exceed the divy and that WIN is a better bet -- but win pays out more divy than book earnings as well -- so does VZ. And FTR is much less leveraged than WIN if you look at the pro forma Q3 balance sheet.
Just foolish-Fools...a few 1,000 shares here and there in illiguid markets...late at night and in the wee small hours when market speculators would be far more rewarded to get they're 6-8 hours.....
Just hang on to FTR for 3 years and watch these shares approach they're all time highs north of: $16.00 per share!!!
And- have multiple raises of the dividend also...
Please sleep tight...
And-please just say NO---to 'day-traders'! :)
