Had FTR for last 1 1/2 years. Had some giggles but time to leave. Figured if I was checking FTR & two other stocks several times a day & the other 25 stocks in the portfolio not at all, needed to make a change. Today TECUA & FTR got tossed overboard. Made money on both. Made more on TECUA by a long shot. Already happier & also my work is less disturbed. Now that is a dividend & a blessing.
Sorry you entered much to soon. I have been here less than three months, and I am loving the interest rate I am earning, as well as the (admittedly) slow growth--but I invested for the income and not the growth so I am not concerned about the latter. Unfortunately, timing is everything. I think your decision to leave now simply reinforces the prematurity issue.
Hi Leew, I got in about 6 weeks after the divie was cut to it's present form. Have waited & waited for the VZ consolidation to appear & make some headway. I invested for the income from the divie while waiting for movement. Not sorry I was here, just other pastures I think are greener. For me, being in & spending so much time on the market, I need to see a return on my investment commencerant for the time spent during research, checking on news, etc.
To me this is all about making money. With TECUA had a 47% return on money but saw that the stock was dead in the water for the forseeable future. FTR made 8% in one account & lost 2% in the other (IRA). So time to move on. Maybe FTR will turnaround in the next 6 months, don't think so. Got over (mostly) holding stocks for emotional reasons. Holding stocks for emotional reasons cost me lots of money - trying to learn that lesson & apply it.
