Yet shares traded are pathetic, on very low volume. No positive effect on share price. Looking for earnings results in November. Good luck to longs. Maybe an overdue turnaround is in the future. Any comments?
A lot of technology has been surprising the heck out of me lately. Working in maintenance all these years. We've got telecom and Obama with Verizon, we've got Frontier and the upcoming results, we've got Tellabs TLAB that just announced a buy to a private equity firm, [frontier's backbone nodes by the way in the former gte areas], and now the glass guys Corning GLW with Sammy. This could get very interesting. Go Telecom, either way. I have a boatload of shares with VZ and FTR, also Caterpillar CAT reports tomorrow which I have a stake in.cd
Oh gosh -- here we go. Do you need an explanation on how the funds were divied out, or can you look it up for yourself. Telcos were awarded the funds, FTR and WIN. Far as Obama, he didn't do anyone any favors. I agree, he wanted "internet to rural areas" that didn't have access. Far cry from someone spending millions on companies like Solyndra,m where China took us to the bank.,cd
I take it you mean Obama has been very good to the telcom industry in regards to all the stimulus money his administration has provided to upgrade the broadband in this country. FTR applied for 10's of millions of stimulus dollars along with WIN and hundreds of independent telcoms. This has created and kept thousands of jobs in the telcom industry. I deal with the independents like Win, CTL, Fairpoint and FTR daily and they use a lot of government funds that have been made available.
