NO, it is because this stock and company is a flying turd! I want to hang myself as I had a limit order for 1500 shares and thought I sold in both IRA and brokerage, but did not and missed my $5.05 price. So, same old story, I will have to wait six months for it to cross $5 a share again.
What some folks who post here seem to forget is that FTR usually trades down by more than $.10 the day or two after the ex - dividend date which allows shorts to take on the dividend payment liability but still be better off than if the sold the day before to avoid it. This happens because of FTR' short shares around 200 k and because of the program trading. I've seen a lot of claims of manipulation but this does look to me like a case of manipulation.
