Seems to Me That The Probable Closing of Ciruit City
would tremendously help HGG's bottom line. I'm not sure when or how the closing/bankruptcy will take place, but CC's stock is now a penny stock, so I look for after Christmas. HGG could be a great buy sometime early next year .. until then ... I'm staying on the sideline.
HGG is close to becoming a penny stock also. On the last management call they are continuing to open new store! Have you been in a store recently? To get the truth Ask a young sales guy about floor traffic and sales...dont ask the manager
The HGG that opened in my area reminds me of what Circuit was like, before they stopped selling appliances. Unfortunately for them, the CC in my area is not scheduled to close, so they are still battling it out with Best Buy. So, everyone is still going after the same customers.
We don't yet have hhgregg stores in my area. Which basically means that the bankruptcy of Circuit City will leave BestBuy as the only big-box electronics retailer in my state. Which means that there will be room for someone else to move in and take the #2 slot. I don't know how this will play out, but the elimination of Circuit City would seem to me to increase the opportunity for HGG to expand into new markets.
Circuit City had it coming. My shopping experience there has been going downhill for the past several years, to the point that it was almost laughable. BestBuy certainly does't provide a great shopping experience, but it's considerably better than CC. At least based on my experience with the BB and CC in my neighborhood.
Can anyone here tell us about his shopping experience at hhgregg in comparison with CC and BB?
