Taiwan market: Samsung ranks as top smartphone vendor in June with over 40% share, says paper Commercial Times, July 20; Steve Shen, DIGITIMES [Friday 20 July 2012] Samsung Electronics managed to retain its top-vendor title in Taiwan's smartphone market in June with a 41.5% share in terms of sales volume, up from 35.8% in the previous month, the Chinese-language Commercial Times quoted data compiled by local channels as indicating.
Sales of Samsung's Galaxy S3 alone reached 67,000 units in June, accounting for 10% of total smartphones sold in the month, the data showed.
HTC took the second-rank title in the smartphone segment in June with a 23.8% share, down from 26.6% in May. Apple followed with a 7.1% share in June compared to 10.8% in the previous month, say the paper.
