gets us near 30% return over next 12 months from this panic sell level. All those idiots who bought this on hyoe from some brokers about the potential value of selling 100K acres deserved past 3 month losses--flim flam men all over again. Now there is deflated real value here... some smart buyers tis week scoopping up slowly but every day...
No one deserves to be called idiots because they lost money buying a stock. The punishment is already there. No need to rub it in. I guess you never lost because you know it all. Maybe you should be running the company!
Sorry, no. No one who bought based on EVEP's presentations and repeated proclomations of sale by year end. Unprecedented interest in the land... etc deserved this. No. EVEP made a very detailled case for why the land would sell and how it would immediately transform the company and grow distributions massively almost immediately. This wasn't a case of a few people reading between the lines and going blind. This was a case of EVEP unitholders listening and trusting the expertise of it's management team. The 70's were frothy and may not have been great value bues in retrospect. But unitholders buying in the 50's and 60's were buying based on the guidance of management.
The buyers weren't idiots and did not deserve these losses nor did they deserve to be treated this way by John Walker, Mark Houser, and Mike Mercer. None of whom even bother returning phone calls anymore and I've had extensive conversations with all in the past.
I'd assume that Walker et al. believed the hype, too, but it was poor parenting to dress their 16-year old daughter up like Sophia Vergara and invite the Phi Delts over to the lake house for her birthday party while they were out of town.
. . . but then these are the same parents who waited until Christmas Eve to tell the kids that they're getting divorced and becoming polygamists.
Well said, I bought all the way from the low 30's to the high 50's over multiple years, and to see the stock crater like this has been utterly painful. I have been investing for many years and have never seen such sustained selling in any stock, especially one where there is no risk of the business going belly-up. Yes, management did not deliver the sale as promised and their silence has frustrating, but I spoke to Mark Houser only last week (he does return calls) and they continue to be positive internally. The positives with UEO and other mid-stream activity is probably going to surprise most posters and the mid-stream build out is also helping land prices as well. oping to see a transaction in the near future...good luck to all longs
