    Port Orange Lunch

    Stop today around noon. It was crowded and I was 12th in line. My ticket was number 10052 so I was the 52 receipt and time was 12:01. There were 3 port orange finest in front of me and three more arrived a few minutes after I got there. I estimate when I left there were 10 people in line. So approximate 70 receipts before 12:15.

    The best part was the owner was there, he was walking around introducing himself. He wore cowboy boots and designer jeans. He came our way and stopped at the table with the officers first. He then came to our table, he introduced himself, I said I knew who he was. I stated this was my second time to the store and I was also an investor in PI. He stated, that it never occurred to him to buy the stock early, when he was in Dallas. He said he was so excited to open his first store it just didn't occur to him. He did state that he recently purchased shares at $8 area. We discussed the second location for Daytona area, he said a Starbucks and he's pretty confide that he will secure the other space. He would prefer the starbucks location, but said they will give him good exposure.

    He asked to remove my tray, since I was finished with the pie and then headed towards the cooking area backroom. I think 70 some tickets by noon is awesome. I spoke with a few of the girls making the pie, they stated they have been busy. I want to point out, I have never seen such happy employee's. Maybe the novelty of the operation? I should have complimented him on that aspect.

    • Great update thx. PZZI is enabling entrepreneurial restaurant groups and people like L Gale Lemerand to take their land grab in the fast casual pizza space...I really think we will see the top 50-75 markets signed on fast by groups who will on average do 10 restaurant commitments. Then PZZI will essentially have 50-75 outsourced build out teams getting the land grab. Plus there is plenty of room for corp owned units. They could go to thousands of restaurants very fast

    • The key will be the ongoing run rate once the honey moon is over. I hope he gets to $1 million, but that seems a bit optomistic given the current stores.

      • I think this store does over $1M and maybe $1.5M. I just got a call from a friend who was on his way to P5 in Port Orange. I asked him to call me with receipt number. Just got off the phone, he was ticket 10182. So between 12:01 and 4:30 they had additional 130 receipts from my purchase at noon.

        He said there was a nice line when he left. My friends bill was Just under $50. He said a women was carry out 8 pies boxes. That's another $50+.

        200 sales a day times $18 times 360 days =$1.3M in sales. This store was up to 182 tickets at 4:30pm. I also believe that $18 is a very conservative number on average ticket sales.

        Have a good weekend and hopefully these are the building blocks of a profitable company. I also like this next quarters numbers, since a few of the company stores are near colleges and that should make same store sales numbers look better this reporting quarter.
