I just bought another 100 shares, and I'm so glad I got it on the dip. I began buying in the $5 range and I've never had to look back. It just keeps going up. I'm holding this for the long haul and hope to accumulate 100 shares a month till the end of the year. Good Luck to all.
Yes, Fran........now I understand completely.
Yes, indeed, pay your taxes on time......I am a little ahead of the game, I hope. But the gains I had this year with AKS are going to be hard to digest without some tax-loss sales, which I am contemplating now.
Yes, thank you for pointing out the mistype. Also, last post had we rather than be.
The point that I was making is that in previous post, I had suggested to pay the IRS on profits on a Q basis, because the FINEST companies for "widows and orphans" could have a BUMP in the road. If one parlays tax money from profits, and you have such a snag, you can be very depressed! So then to cover taxes you have to sell and take a loss on a company that you thought was so sound, or go into fresh money to pay taxes.
We never know for sure what is going to happen that could ruin your whole day like Sept. 11, 2001, an assasination of a world figure, fear, etc. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, don't invest more than you can afford to lose!!! AND, pay those taxes or go to a fed. pen.
Buy, but there is always the remote possibility of a major correction: Stock conditions that pre-empt the condition and trend of AKS or any security for that matter.
The saying is that they "they take the madam along with the girls". Fortunately, in NV. as long as the taxes are paid and Joe Conforte is not part of the business, it is business as usual!(Please forgive this side bar).
Another thing, DON"T ever speculate more than you can afford to lose. This is why your stock broker needs a financial reading and advises you to invest only discretionary $$$
Sometimes, it seems like sophisticated greed/gambling, but that is what life is about: taking chances. Good luck with your investing!!! The rewards are AWESOME!!!
ps Most importantly, PAY the TAXES as you go!!!
Whenever you sell, put away the tax money!!!
Do not parlay tax dollars! You will be one unhappy person when you take a handsome profit, invest in a well researched CO., etc. and it immediately sinks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You do not want to be there. Just like everyone seems to have one hangover in his/her lifetime, this will happen to you if you are not careful in paying those taxes quarterly. AMEN. Enuff already with these sermons :)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thats a very smart way of building a long position when one doesn't have enough capital all at once. Also, if one believes in a stock it gives them the benefits of dollar cost averaging.
Anyways.. poor people like us who have to save from our salaries and invest know this.
Everyday I check realmoney.com, Cramer has some post about how steel stocks are going to tank or how they are great short candidates. I guess someday he will be right if we wait around long enough!
