Union offer is a fake. They took an outdated proposal, added a few demands, endorsed it and gave it back, saying it is A K's proposal instead of thier own. Come on!!!! To make matters worse the local newspaper bought into the farce and published an article that did little to expose this meaningless tactic to shift the unions blame of not acting in good faith. Good job Brian, you have once again been able to spread a false hope to the poor sheep you are leading to slaughter. I can't help but wonder what greed has motivated you to choose such a course.
It is the duty of the organization to represent the memberships best interests. The mgt. should simply accept the unions offer. Whether they have 500mil. cash or 700 mil. cash doesnt matter. They can still be a profitable company and, they will continue to enjoy lucrative rewards from the devotion and hard work of there employees. While they may demonstrate more efficient profitability under the lock-out.Eventually , a settlement will be reached but only if Mgt. actualy wants that. They dont want that, they want to get rid of their leegacy costs. Its amazing how eager Ford and GM were to buyout so quickly with little resistance from the organization.I would conclude that the jobs themselves are worth much more than any offer buy the company. And todays organization leadership is weak and genuinely unserving of the memberships they represent.Nobody is interested in pounding the pavement and its just a matter of time before they accept the Mgt. position. That is plain to see.
