CMI CEO on Cramer tonight...They will discuss WPRT
WPRT.... CMI CEO on Cramer tonight..UPS (UPS) intends to announce in the next few days that it will increase the number of natural gas trucks in its fleet to 800 by the end of 2014, from 112 now, according to the New York Times. The additional vehicles will use engines developed by Cummins (CMI) and Westport Innovations (WPRT),
Geez, was hoping for a much larger increase in engines in the fall once the initial 12L build had some time in the field. This is going to be much longer time frame for the U.S. China will have to fill the gap in revenues till the U.S. ramps up production. Robert, I think we need to see 20,000+ engines a year to get this thing rolling. Weichai build 40k nat gas engines last year? I realize margins are slim in China. No wonder Shell is just lurking in the background.
