J.J. Taylor Distributing Florida Inc. recently built a compressed natural gas station at its Fort Myers location. And with this addition, the Tampa-based company is working to switch more of its fleet from diesel to compressed natural gas.
Of the 176 tractors in the Florida company's fleet, 53 run on CNG. By early next year, 91 tractors (52 percent of the fleet) are expected to run on CNG.
Using CNG has "put us on the cutting edge," he said.
