Can someone please explain why the stock has increased 33% in 3 months? I like SXL but I don't get why the market has been on such a tear. At this point you're only getting ~4% for holding. Why not take profits and migrate to another MLP with a higher yield?I had bought KMR instead of SXL and sold after a 25% rise. I don't get how its going up either. I like both stocks but this increase is ridiculous.
Before making any evaluations & recommendations, check the comparative PE ratios, revenue growth and dividend growth. This is a very solid & dependable growth stock.
It's not a stock, doesn't pay a dividend, and PE is useless for evaluating the MLP structure.
pay.back - I see it the same way - overbought. I bought last Feb 3rd and just sold Feb calls (a bit early it turns out) but likely getting me out with a long term gain. I'm now screening for a replacement MLP: considering TCP.
TLLP and CHKR look good...thoughts?...
"Why not take profits and migrate to another MLP with a higher yield?"For holders in a taxable account that may have very significant tax implications (depending how many distributions you have collected).Otherwise you are right...prospects may be good but it does seem somewhat overbought.TLLP is another in the same situation.
