    The average postwar recovery lasted 57 months and this recovery is now 54 months old. This does not mean that a new recession must begin soon, but it is certainly a sober backdrop against which to consider other data. It means that a recession in 2014 is a likely possibility.

    • It will take a bit longer. A prerequisite for a recession or depression is another Republican president and their boneheaded economic "genius thinking." Look what master magician GW Bush did for us with Clinton's surplus & uber-healthy economy...and Adolph Reagan...modern day Herbert Hoovers.
