There's still a ton of shorts out there 1,096,521(March) versus 1,158,615(Feb.). Average daily volume droped to 51,602, so the days to cover ratio increased to 21.25 for March from 9.09 in Feburary. Just remember, all those short shares will have to cover sometime. skeptically
If your are just starting to learn about stocks in general, I wouldn't be concerned about this "shorting stuff". However, for starters you can go to http://quote.yahoo.com/ In the references section click on financial glossary. Look up short interest, short position and short sale. That may help a little.
