I'm near Ft.Worth. In Feb '04 we came down to check things out and it was 78 degrees when we left. We flew back into Newark, NJ and then drove to NW NJ into 8" of snow so don't complain. LOL Snow is beautiful if you're just driving local or drive at night on a country road. But when you have to drive 47 miles home in a snow storm and it takes you 3-5 hrs to do it the appeal quickly fades. LOL
...hey Zen, we're originally from Iowa. Used to get 60 below (with the windchill) in February. No more of that for me! I haven't seen snow in 21 years. Wouldn't mind seeing some on xmas eve again...the nice clean white stuff.
I hear you. I think the lowest it ever got in NJ was about -20 below zero. Winters in NJ can be chilling to the bone sometimes and other times rather mild. I had a friend who worked on oil wells out in the mid-west at -50 below and said "you get used to it"...lol....I don't think so, at least not me. Ex-Co-workers of mine up in Syracuse, NY on avg get about 110" of snow every year....But housing, like TX is cheap. In NJ you can't buy a shack in a swamp for what houses cost in TX LOL. But every place has it's pro's and con's. NJ has a great NW area, the "Joisy shaaaw" LOL and NYC for all the cultural stuff.
