Question For You Predicting $6.00 Merger Price

Yesterday we had a spitited debate over the price of SIRI on the day the merger is announced. We appreciate your impute on the topic. For those of you who want to read the thread it was entitled Merger Timing and Price.

Today we would like those of you who forsee a merger price in excess of $5.00 to justify your reasons for your opinion.

To get the discussion started we would like to make some observations.

    1. The merger was announced on Feb. 19 and tomorrow marks nine months. Many people were skeptical of its chances in Feb. Today most people are optmistic. We checked the closing prices for the stocks on Feb. 16--the last trading day before the announcement. XMSR closed at $13.98 and SIRI was at $3.70. Today they stand at $13.98 and $3.52, respectively.

Here is the question, if the stock is going to pop to $5.00 or $6.00 or more why has the investing public not anticipated the move and bought into the stock and moved the price higher. The investing public being funds, institutions and individuals.

    2. The analysts who cover the stock are not predicting the massive move in the stock that some of you are predicting.

Robert Peck of Bear Stearns said in a note published on Nov. 7 that he expected the price of SIRI to be $5.50 by year end 2008. You can read his note by going to financial blogs on the SIRI front page hit older blogs and look for an article entitled Bull and Bear of SIRI XM merger. By the way Peck said the merger would result in 5 billion in cost savings.

Eileen Furukawa of Citigroup has been a constant proponent of the merger and expects 7 billion in cost savings. Her merger target price is $5.00.

Kit Springs of Stiefel, Nicholas expects the merger to be approved and has a target price of $4.75 on merger day.

We can find no analyst that is predicting a price on merger day in excess of $5.00.

Analysts are not always right, but they are not always wrong. So how is it that none of these people who make their living analyzing stocks agree with your price predictions? What have they missed that you see?

So today we ask you to justify your predictions. What is it that you see that would justify a merger price in excess of $5.00. Put your thoughts and reasons out there and let the members of this board analyze your thoughts.

    Good Luck to Everyone.

    • LMAO !!!

    • The savings are mounting higher and higher as time passes

    • The Amazing Truth is that we are TWICE THE COMPANY we
were on the day of this posting and a New Bird going up
      in weeks!!

Whatsmore......we have "Darth Vader" on our Side....

Can you just hear John Malone saying....

"Mel, Trust Me.......I am Your Father!!"

Okay, okay......so why are we twice the company and sitting
      on 35 Cents?

      Anyone, Anyone? Bueller? Anyone?

The Best is Yet to Come!!

    • The stock will stop going up when the big boys have steam rolled the retail shorts until they are completely bored.

Once this merger is cleared this stock will go up and up and up until there are no more buyers and then shorts are going to have to have a lot of money to push it back down and those short now won't have any money left to apply ANY pressure. And don't forget the retail longs will have massive leverage on their accounts.

See you jokers at $100.00 after we have steam rolled over these overconfident shorts 50 consecutive days in a row. It will be the shorts fault this stock reaches new heights.

      Cheers!!

      ____________________________________________________
Every single share is being held by the investing public therefore (the investing public has anticipated the move and bought into the stock) If the stock had already "MOVED" to $6 then there would be no need for the stock to "POP" to $6.

But just get the "$6.00" out of your head. If is useless information. The stock will move until every retail short has been milked about 15 times.... LOOK for $16 - $26 -$36

      FOREGET $6

    • D_soble, that what I was kinda sting to s50. Just using numbers to do it. Not bashing the stock at all. Just when they sold 155M shares last year and then screamed CFBE. I started to wonder about management. Even sterns stock bonuses did not bug me, (not the 402 k stock compensation for exces to the exclusion they will try to lay it on taxpayor ass.) After all that is what a lot of companies have been doing. Airlines in particular.
