I have an online brokerage account. I have 35k SIRI shares. I switched to this account from fidelity because of fees. When I did that I had to input all dates and costs per share. On the first of this year they changed to a new system that considers a new way for accounting for "best taxing situation sales." Currently my shares costs and dates are not accounted for until early March unless I re-input the data myself.
Since these shares are in "limbo" is there a chance they are being borrowed for "naked shorting" ? I know this board, so don't bother BS'ing. TIA
i think you mean "shorting". If I understand correctly when someone "naked shorts" they dont even have share they're make believe. and who really cares in the big scheme of things 35,000 share is nothing so dont beat yursaelf up and think that you are helping to keep the cost down.
