Why is Liberty Spending so much money on SIRIUS/XM to take over?

I need your answers. That should explain why we are moving up?
Could it be business in Europe, Could it be the market share in US cars?
Could it be in Internet space for special programming?
    You tell me folks?

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

    • When someone like Malone see's a money maker he jumps on it to make money. Plain and simple! Don't let all these other fools scare you off. Read all the past take over/spinoffs with Malone and just the history alone about the man and you will find out quickly for yourself. Also Buffet is in and that man well if you don't know about that man you don't need to be here anyway.

      Sentiment: Strong Buy

    • The most simple answer is FCF. Liberty loves FCF producing companys. You are in good hands with Liberty/Malone

    • It has huge growth potential in Asia,Europe and other continents of the world. As we know they have good relationship with car companies and they have to do minimum effort to establish in rest of the world ,secondly share buyback and huge short position (255 million) can take it to da moon.

      Sentiment: Strong Buy

    • I think they simply believe in satellite radio and the subscription model which generates real revenue vs. giving stuff away free in exchange for nebulous advertising income. Satellite radio is "sticky" and has content beyond simply music ie. financial, sports, comedy, politics, news, religion, etc. I'm a life-long music mut, but I, and many, many people don't want to listen to music all day. Millions of people like to listen to the other content.
Also, does not Sirius have huge tax loss carryovers from the "bad years", that Liberty will be allowed to use against their profits?......thought I heard that. John Malone of Liberty is not only a media wizard but a financial and tax wizard.

    • Be wise and know, they are spending the money because it is WORTH it.
A unique product, with a large barrier to entry (do you have any idea how much even one low orbit sattelite costs or is worth?)
The only people who could come along and complete would be monster sized outfits like Google/Apple/Microsoft etc and they would'nt bother starting out from the ground up running another version, they would simply use that HUGE scoop of CASH to simply buy out the platform.
I make no predictions about takeovers(that is fools play) but the reality is the larger companies are in a constant game of one upsmanship with each other in terms of providing value and function as they complete for the hearts and minds of the consumer. Tellitotherain...Bold and Hold long and strong!

      Sentiment: Hold

    • Global satellite internet, cell communications, media. Big things on the horizon In my opinion.

      Sentiment: Strong Buy
