I've just spent the last couple of hours recalculating my $1.09 estimate
but using fresh (REAL) numbers and I think they held back abour a quarter in EPS. They've been really good about engineering their numbers for staged, smooth growth (albeit GREAT) and I am convinced they "bagged" about 25 cents for this year!!!
I did the same thing and came up with 15-20 cents.
That Q4 EPS number was written on a QCOR whiteboard in the CFOs office early December--that's my opinion.
Somebody--maybe MHO--stated on this board a couple weeks ago--QCOR gets no extra bang for a huge quarter, and they probably plan to buy back some shares. Good to keep in mind for projections going forward.
Ha---you could almost take the analyst consensus, look at the percentage beat for Q3 and Q4--and there's your number for Q1.
Pharma...that was my first pass (clearly managing their earnings) but I wanted to run real numbers through my model to be sure I wasn't simply extrapolating those prior actions. Got almost same result (actually 20 to 25 cents, with the higher being the more detailed pass). I'm happy they did this because as you can see they would have TOTALLY WASTED their bagged earnings on 2012.
