what is the explanation?
by the way this applies to all stocks.
so how reliable is nasdaq's twice monthly short interest reports?
Sub, Both volumes are correct, in that Nasdaq reports total volume, whereas short analytics reports Real volume (Total Volume minus HFT High Frequency Trading Volume) This paints a more realistic picture of how many real shares are being shorted, sold, and bought by people rather than computerized trading. Very useful. This applies to most stocks, but Nasdaq numbers would probably align with short analytics more regarding stocks that do not have as heavy of a volume or HFT trading.
As far as short interest reports, those reports are definitely accurate disclosures. However, they are released after the reported date, so sizes may have decreased or increased somewhat between the report date and actual release of that report. Always keep that in mind.
Yep danzo. Pure manipulation. A little irritating, but more shares to squeeze tomorrow, or the next day, or the day after that... Will just make this shoot up even faster when we do. I didn't sell a single share or contract today. Probably won't for a Lo-o-ong time...
