This stock just about makes me physically ill. It is now sporting a P/E of just over 8. EIGHT!!! There is only one thing that can happen to light a fire under this thing and get it moving upwards - I'd have to sell my shares. I'm getting close to that point.
PE means little while CASH means a lot to a takeover? Think about it..600M in cash.Nokia may owe us 400M..Bid 1.6B for the stock on a buyout..Whats that about $40 a share and it costs them? How about an Apple bid and use the IPR vs Nokia?Or RIMM?Or INTC?..Lots of other companies can use these patents and simply buy IDCC out.
True, P/E isn't a great metric for this stock. I mentioned it to highlight how IDCC's earnings don't seem to impact its stock price at all. It could patent the perpetual motion engine and the stock would have a short run to 28 before drifting back to the low 20s. LOL
That aspect of IDCC value has been totally neglected by "so-called analysts"... What is the worth of an importsnt, usable, or essential IPR cache...??! Strategic value to at least a Dozen different companies in or seeking to be in the Wireless Future...
btw, anyone having concerns or suggestions for IDCC...send them to Janet at IR... email@example.com
