anyone can design around our patents-goldberg

    howard goldberg

    a past officer of idcc

the leader of the patent and litigation area of idcc for years

the head honcho for a while (below campagna, of course)

    get it through your head

    this is really disappointing

    on and on it goes

read the article for crying out loud

    its his own words

its not the court system (although the original mot trial was extremely flawed)

    the real problem is simple

    NOT ACCEPTING REASONABLE AMOUNTS

any patent in the world can be worked around. and the work around may even be better than the original patent.

i've worked aside of people who were told to look at existing patents on a project, and develop similar technology

with those directives part of the design record.

    its done all the time

dont make it worth nokias while to pay lawyers and engineers

make it worth their while to use our patents

    • Yes, every time you see management speak in public it makes you wonder how you ever decided to buy this stock.

For every dollar of cash per share there is an offsetting entry in negative charisma. It's easy to understand how Wall street analysts are underwhelmed.

I've been blown away by the fundamentals and dismayed by management presentations for the last five years -- nevermore than when Merritt said he would regard a loss at the ITC (which subsequently occurred) as a learning experience. We've never really recovered by that boneheaded failure to settle with Nokia -- probably never will. Now a settlement would be an anticlimactic yawner, but then it would have propelled the stock into the high $40s.

Management knows almost nothing about how to lift the price of our stock, and cares even less.

    • "but manufacturers will find that it is cheaper to license our simple elegant solutions....than to design their own cumbersome workarounds...simply to avoid paying royalties to idc"......my quote...."you are so intellectually dishonest that it borders on the criminal"....sell your phantom shares,COVER YOUR REAL SHORTS....but please..."keep it balanced"
