So in other words, Google may buy us, but they will never love us??
I don't think even something as powerful as a google will be able to effect significant changes in the law in time to save themselves from the system that currently exists. Do you guys?
From this qoute in the article:
"Google is seeking to buy patents that would put it on a level plane with its rivals"
It pretty much sums it up...IDCC is a major play (as are others in this space). If they don't start being the hunter, they're going to get their arse handed to them. Apple, Microsoft, etc has figured this out and if Google don't get serious, kiss the billions spent on Android goodbye.
The counsel basically is reinforcing the idea that they're goIng to buy IDCC in my opinion.

Basically...Google has the cash and will use it....they have to buy IDCC in order for Android to survive...it is that simple
They may not like it, but they have to do it...offer coming within days
Goog doesnt need to buy IDCC and you guys are delusional.
friendly advice:
sell while you are ahead!
Hey, I have an Idea for GOOGLE, if they don't like paying others for IP, design and engineer workable solutions yourselves. Piece of cake right?
You know damn well Google made a low ball offer--say $2-3 billion--to IDCC and IDCC turned around and put themselves up for sale to the highest bidder. Google believes in the open source fairy and hates paying up for innovation. If they let Apple walk away with this prize, they will be very sorry because in five years they will be out of the smart phone business. They hate intellectual property unless it's their own. Remember how they tried to scan every book in the universe until they ran up against a little thing called copyright law. To them patents are like content, everything is suppose to be free for them to package and deliver at a profit, of course.
