They use Capital IQ. Their story: "3PM Interdigital Comm misses by $0.05, misses on revs; co cancels conf. call, guidance following the announcement that the Board of Directors has initiated a process to explore and evaluate potential strategic alternatives." When in fact IDCC beat the real consensus on both earnings and revenues.
I emailed them. But re-read my post! The "consensus" is coming from two different sources. Yahoo uses IBES from Thomson, and Briefing uses Capital IQ. IBES is more widely used, but if Yahoo is going to post Briefing.com articles, they need to be using IBES!
InterDigital, Inc. (NASDAQ: IDCC) reported Q2 EPS of $0.37, $0.01 better than the analyst estimate of $0.36. Revenue for the quarter came in at $69.9 million versus the consensus estimate of $69.24 million.
