Looking forward, if your statement is true; the auction will close by end of this month - 1 week away with positive results, not to drag on to November like most takeovers with all type of shareholders and SEC blessing.
There's only a few companies with the cash to make the offer - Apple, Google, Intel.
Google already bought MMI and unlikely to make offer. If Google and/or Intel makes bid, it is not a low-ball offer of 60-70. 100 might be too high with market correction saying probably remote.
Or a consortium like with Nortel. Even though you can't buy Samsung or LG and they are solid - Samsung in perticular might be interested in building up its arsenal to fend itself in its ongoing battles with AAPL. Right now they are trying to ban each others smart phones where they can due to patent conflicts.
