"and i love how the forbes article clarified that the 1-2 billion dollar bids were probably for only certain assets, not the whole company"
that's not necessarily a good thing for shareholders. The company will simply keep the $$ and spend it on something else. Starting, say, with exec bonuses??
IDCC former investors that sold their shares for a profit, nonetheless, will always check back if they should have held on and get a higher price later on.
If you bought in the 40s and sold in the 80s, great call. IDCC has made a roundtrip.
Others holding on tight in the 50-70s range.
High risk, high reward.
Would not be surprised with low-ball offers @ 65-75 as a disappointment with final outcome of 80-95. Depends if owners see value in patents generating future income within a couple of year.
Wall Street trading IDCC like no surprise mega $4-$5B deal.
The wait is the hard part...like finding out what's at the end of the rainbow - gold or a mirage.
Then what are you still doing here? We are all adults. Why do you feel compelled to continue to hang around trying to save us from ourselves? Your immaturity really started to show last night.
Grow the h*ll up! You have no position so why continue to hang around and agitate others?
There are such types on message boards...I'm pretty sure some of those that announce they are shorting a stock..and almost in the next hour..the stock starts to fall...that's not concidence...I believe such individuals are connected to hedge funds..or big money...and like the extra kick it gives them to be able to "predict" and amaze those on message boards...kind of like sociopaths that like to give police little "hints" on how to find them..it makes the game more exciting...
Wow, Lind, up 20 points on GR, and maybe more if you have the patience to hold on. I see why you pay the big bucks to subscribe to DealReporter (or, perhaps, your firm does).
But from $5 or $7 to maybe $85 or $100, like Tomcat, ECTBOX, and Johnny that's not trading, that's real investing. Something that takes real vision, and the ability to see beyond the next quarter.
drvermin IDCC is my only stock.
Once this ends I will be all cash since I see a major market correction down the road.
By cheap seats I mean us retail investors that follow our accounts through google or yahoo, read message boards etc vs all the gigantic players be it in the wirless industry or the hedge funds out to milk us.
