    Insiders !!!!!

If I may, let me give you my opinion on SCLN future stock movement. SCLN will correct itself a little more tomorrow and then move higher on Friday. This stock wants to run, so I would guess after the August 8 earnings conference call and the August 10 insider SEC filings date we will be over $10.00 per share. I have been trading stocks for over 44 years and the one thing I know is that insiders don't make purchases of $40,000,000 worth of stock in a couple of months without major news pending. Keep in mind this one major insider is one of the owners of a major drug manufacturer in Italy.

    • I agree on your first statment but regarding your second one I can not see anything in Form 4 that says that under Explanations or any other place.

      Thanks

    • >>>Just maybe they are trying to pump the price?<<<

That doesn't seem likely--or they weren't very good at it--because they let a lot of options expire in March worthless. Their June options expired below the 5 strike price (4.86?) but they exercised them anyway because they wanted the stock and apparently figured buying that much stock in the open market would raise their cost basis. In addition, if you're going to pump up the stock price, presumably it would be to sell your shares to someone else at this artificially inflated price, but the Cavazzas held on.
What appears to have actually happened is that, in 2003 and before, the Cavazzas considered Zadaxin an interesting drug candidate and took a significant position in SCLN; and something in the last several months fanned the flame of that interest white hot. Tc

The summary was mine and followed directly from a reading of the Cavazza Form 4's. Here are recent 4's for both Claudio and Paolo , if you really think I made it all up. I think it would be appropriate that you at least admit you were wrong on this before changing your strategy to a "Cavazza pump-and-dump" song and dance , as you seem to be doing.

    • Everyone oit's obvious what he's trying to do here by twisting facts that we, reporters and everyone else accepts. notice what he puts in his headline hoping your reply to his message. If you do, his message is repeated many times giving the avg reader more to think about. It's all 101 bashing tricks.

Question: did someone hack our SCLN message board last night? I can't read the posts from message #103560

    • Seems like we have down this road before. On January 2003 SCLN was trading at $3.50. After this purchase the price rose to $9.76 in July 2003. After that it drifted back to $2.25 or so in May 2005 just before Sigma Tau bought some more shares.

Just maybe they are trying to pump the price?

    • "Your thinking might be correct if Cavazza were to be the only or majority stockholder in Sigma Tau and Defiante or if both of these corporatations which he has an interest in are closely held."

Do you not know who the majority holder of Sigma Tau is????

      Really did your homework, eh????

If I were you, I'd start with a google search for "Claudio Cavazza" + Sigma Tau. Let me save you time and get you started in the right direction:

Claudio owns 60% of Sigma Tau-- he started the company with his father.

    • >>>Your thinking might be correct if Cavazza were to be the only or majority stockholder in Sigma Tau and Defiante or if both of these corporatations which he has an interest in are closely held.

The fact is that the money did not come out of his pocket. It came out of the corporate coffers of Defiante of which Cavazza is not the only or even majority stockholder.<<<

I'm taking some time with this because I want any new SCLN investors to know the truth and also because I believe you may truly just be confused rather than deliberately misleading others. Also I appreciate that you're forthright about your short position and also your civility relative to other bashers that visit this board.

      From SCLN Form 4's:

"Shares directly owned by Defiante Farmaceutica, L.D.A. ("Defiante"). Defiante is 58% directly owned by Sigma Tau Finanzaria S.p.A. ("Sigma Tau") and 42% directly owned by Sigma Tau's wholly-owned subsidiary, Sigma Tau International S.A. Claudio Cavazza directly and indirectly owns 60% of Sigma Tau."

"Shares directly owned by Defiante Farmaceutica, L.D.A. ("Defiante"). Defiante is 58% directly owned by Sigma Tau Finanziaria S.p.A. ("Sigma Tau") and 42% directly owned by Sigma Tau's wholly-owned subsidiary, Sigma Tau International S.A. Paolo Cavazza directly and indirectly owns 40% of Sigma Tau"

"Shares directly owned by Chaumiere Consultadoria e Servicos S.A., which is an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of Aptafin S.p.A. ("Aptafin"). Aptafin is owned by Paolo Cavazza and members of his family."

      Summary :

The Cavazza's own 100% of Sigma Tau Finanziaria SpA ("Sigma Tau"); Claudio owns 60%, Paolo 40%.

All of the other entities mentioned are directly or indirectly wholly-owned by "Sigma Tau" or the Cavazza's (in the case of Aptafin).

Therefore, and finally I hope , the Cavazza bros. own ALL of these entities and thus ALL of the money to buy SCLN effectively came out of their pockets.

    • Your thinking might be correct if Cavazza were to be the only or majority stockholder in Sigma Tau and Defiante or if both of these corporatations which he has an interest in are closely held.

The fact is that the money did not come out of his pocket. It came out of the corporate coffers of Defiante of which Cavazza is not the only or even majority stockholder.

If there was a press release supporting your position that Defiante bought 1.5 shares of SCLN because they believe a sharp increase in value in SCLN stock is coming in the near or not so near term then your position would have credence.

But from what I have read neither Cavazza, Sigma Tau, Defiante or SCLN have stated the reason for the purchase of the shares. You can surmize all you want just like I can.

The market is the great equalizer of all arguments between bears and bulls. So far the bulls have had the upper hand from the $2.10 low price until now. My money says that I will make money on my short position which I entered yesterday at over $8.00. I don't know whey I might cover, we will have to wait and see

      Good luck

    • I bought VPHM because of the Vaconcin acquistion last winter not because of the Maribavir, HCV-796 or Plec-Spray (Pleconaril) which has been licensed to SGP.

If any of those succeed VPHM will be a $30 + stock.
