There you will learn you bought into a partnership, not a corporation, and it does not pay dividends, it pays distributions. Most of the money you'll receive is tax deferred.

SPH is one of my core holdings, earning me about 10% based on my original cost.

    • this is a great stock to buy on dips. they are well managed and very cost conscious. they have a good record of raising dividends as it has gone from $2.40 since i bought it to now $3.00 which makes my tax deferred yield 10% since i bout it 4 or 5 years ago. it is also thinly traded and sometimes manipulated so be careful. there headquarters is up the road from my office and their investor relations department will sometimes give you very inciteful info that you can use to make money. this stock is one you put away, reinvest the divvies and 20 years later have lots of money. people will stay warm in the winter before they cut out other activities.

      good luck!
