They have paid dividends since the mid 1990's, not sure about prior to that. This company has been around, growing for more than 50 years. That speaks for itself. The price of the stock is at a 5 year low. Seems most folks prefer to buy when prices are at all time highs, unlike wheat, barley or Levis!.
yes but share price is dropping like a rock and vastly underperforming the market. First uptick and I dump. This is a poorly managed company who continues perform badly in carrying out synergies from aquisitions. There was no synergy, just the expense. This is the worst position in my stock portfolio. I see little to nothing on the horizon that will change that. I have sold off twice in the last month and my investment here is down to less than 1% of my stock portfolio. It stinks.
If you are in it for a fast buck you are in the wrong place. This outfit went public in the mid 90s at about 18, starting with a $1.00 dividend. Time speaks for itself. The only concern here is that it's a 1-trick pony, vulnerable to weather patterns.
