    Store Inventories

RadioShack stores are very low on cell phone inventories as well as other key products. Looks like they may be having some cash flow problems with lenders pertaining to floor-plan credit.

Management has a big push on selling cell phones and add ons, but how can that be accomplished without adequate inventories?

    Dinosaur Brains and lizard logic?

    • I've a couple of friends that are store managers. They are worried that they can not get adequate merchandise to sustain even the reduced sales levels they've seen recently.

I guess "Why stock up for sales you're not gonna make?" If they've closed a couple of Distribution Centers and have not increased the capacity of the remaining ones, the choke chain must be in place!

    • They're making room for the "hot" new merchandise. Wireless toys are big. Life-time guaranteed light bulbs, and for Christmas, hot-lather dispensers.

This stock's gonna rock. Japanese eyeballing them closely, maybe NEC or SONY.

      • oHt-lather dispensers!!! I didn't realize they were going to sell these. Wow. This alone will save the company. I foresee hundreds of people lining up at midnight just to be the first to get in the doors to get one of these babies!

        Fool.

        Says Who?

You must be holding a bunch of stock that is under water!

I can see this as a volatile stock trade for the next 6 months, buy low and sell on $3 bumps like last week.

        Period.

Nothing has changed in the stores to justify confidence long term. Same store sales are still dropping. Continuing to rely on wireless to "save the day" is stupid planning!
