Could we possibly get some mature, hard-edged criticism of Tandy on this board? While there are more of these stores than McDonalds outlets, I have trouble fully understanding this company.
I have owned TAN for way too many years, in fact it was the 1st stock I ever bought. Watched as one diversication idea after another failed to bring in profits, it seemed like they hadn't had a good idea since the TRS-80 computer. Cutting loose Computer City to sink or swim seems like a very good idea. That Incredible Universe effort has me going "what were they thinking?" -- hate to see my money wasted on huge stores with high fixed costs and low customer traffic.
Finally they seem to realize that all along Radio Shack is/was the best money idea they can think up. How much do you think profits can be improved? Does TAN make sense selling at a price/sales ratio of 1.0?
I realize this won't be easy, but let's see if we can analyze TAN like responsible investors. -- MRJ
OMG...stumbled upon first posting ever for this stock just now....writer compares Radio Shack to McDonald's....anyone out there think this is a bad omen? i do. Put hands in pocket...let falling knife go buy.
I was bored. This is the highest number of replied to thread.
The Captain is right, his "Everybody Hates John Morgan came in at number two and is in fact removed.

that I have always run VERY clean inventories and
I plan continue to do so. You are right that there
are criteria and they will never publish the numbers.
In fact today at our manager meeting they said the
numbers will change every quarter so it will be a moving
target so dont try to hit it. While I agree youre right
a certain number of people (as is the case with
anything) will try to cheat the system. However these are
the same people that will cheat whether they do their
inventories quarterly or bi-annually, and they will be the
same people that still get caught doing it.
When I refered to the can of worms I was talking
about just what
u said.That in the future u planned
on being on the good list.
Is it going to be by
some miracle or something that u end up on the list or
what I'm curious george on this issue. Even further do
u think RS will ever publish the numbers nessasary
to get on
THE LIST? I dont think
you are correct. There is a new program that
appears to be on the horizon and it involves NOT taking
Apparently stores that in the past have had good clean
inventories are getting let off the hook for at least one
quarter. There is at least one store in my district that I
know of that qualifies. I don't know the exact
criteria yet and I'm sure my Shack wouldn't make it yet
since it is a new store. However in the future I plan
to be on the GOOD list and cut my inventories per
year in half!! As far as the can on worms goes I'm
sure it has to do with the Best Company Init.
who accurately and responsibly manage
the companies assets.
I think I heard about a good thing coming down
the pipe what do you think.
Rumor has it that some
managers will not have to take an inventory. This to me
spells some kind of can of worms. What do
true SHACKERS have to say about it.
