How many of you bought between 90 and 110? How many of you are still holding despite the drop?
I'm still here. I bought 100 around $60 per share and another 100 at $100 thinking this thing was going much higher.
I'd just like to know whether or not I'm the only one here still holding.
Held at $112.00 bought on the way down at $82.34, which is my highest buy. Long Term Hold. Your not alone, it's hard to pick the very bottom. Buy, Hold and buy more on the dips; NYX is a growth stock. Look at the earnings this week. Will just get better. In two years, the NYX will not look the same.
I am still holding but I did not know NYX when it was in $90 - $100. However, I refuse to average down so my cost basis is not super low either. By any standard except Warren Buffett's approach, shareholders in that group should have stopped out. Apparently, I did not honor my stop loss either. I did not do the right thing which is preserving my capital to invest on the other day. People who took the loss out are not idiot. I don't want to take any side based on my current position. At the end of the day, our common goal including shorts' is the same - to make money and not to get wiped out.
appreciate your honesty. but when you say you bought at 100 thinking it would go much higher, what was that based on? baldy cramer? he doesn't understand the exchange models and he doesn't understand nyx. don't forget he ranted and raved that cme and bot wouldn't merge. you have to do your homework beyond listening to airhead cramer. his only goal in life is ratings. so he'll say anything.
Never post here, but I bought in at 92 and 93. Then again at 79. Looking for another down day to avg down further - but I'm hurting, but I know it will turn and shoot up real quick at some point. Hopefully soon!
"but I know it will turn and shoot up real quick at some point." if you "know," then why aren't you buying more and why didn't you buy at 65? you know nothing. sell your stock and going into an index fund. or, sell your stock and go to a casino and bet on red. that's essentially what you are now doing.
Very well put, he's certainly not alone, and what someone may have interpreted as weak to have even posed the question others like myself thought it was a cool question. I guess all interpretations depend on the interpreter and what's inside them that help them/us form any of our opinions, but I enjoyed you asking for that show of hands. It's my belief with what you've shared you are gonna do just fine.
Fisrt off you need to initiate your own strategy to ask for a show of hands does nothing but communicate weakness. Secondly it is based on the indivual investors strategy/goals on whether to hold or sell (in most case a stop lose should be initiated). In my case I'm in @ $89.50 and will add to my position should NYX reach $60 or less (hopefully it doesn't go there). The bottomline is that you need to set your own benchmarks and not rely on communication/stratgey from the message board.
